Feature Walls
There are many options when it comes to a feature wall, you are only limited by your imagination.
Three things to consider
1. Choosing the Wall
Where possible, choose a wall that is uninterrupted by openings. If there are windows or doors it helps if there is symmetry in their position. Architectural elements such as a fireplace or some artwork can also be highlighted using a feature wall.
2. Colour
A feature wall should stand out but it should not conflict with the other colours in the room. You need to take into account the other wall colours, the flooring and the furnishings.
3. Sheen and Design
Flat, Low-sheen, Semi-Gloss, Gloss, Metallic, Suede and Pearl all have a different sheen and effect. Paints with lower sheen levels and texture, such as Suede, can help hide imperfections in the wall.
You can make an artist impression by choosing a design on the feature wall such as squares, stripes, circles, etc.
Take a look at our examples to get some ideas.

StripesVertical stripes give the illusion of higher ceilings and provide an interesting alternative to solid block colours. This room has alternate stripes of flat off-white and gold Dulux Pearlustre. The lower section, below the chair rail, is a faux copper finish.
BlackboardDulux Design Chalkboard is a flat black acrylic that turns surfaces into an instant chalkboard.
PearlustreThis wall was painted using Dulux Pearlustre. This paint gives a lustrous, translucent, mother-of-pearl finish. The finish for this paint will vary dependent on application method, in this case is was done by brush using long vertical strokes.
